| Lumberjack
Show
The lumberjack show at Port
Gamble is emerging as a premier timber sports event.
Professional contestants from throughout the Pacific Northwest
and British Columbia wield axes, crosscut saws, and power saws
in events such as the springboard chop, axe throw, singlebuck,
and hot saw, just to name a few. Look towards the spar poles
high above the lumberjack stage and you can see tree topping and
speed climbing, two new events added to the lumberjack show this
year. The show is not just for experienced professionals, but
also hosts novice and intermediate events for those learning
skills and becoming the next generation of timber sports
competitors. The precision and skill required for these events
is sure to leave a lasting impression in the minds of the whole
family. |
